Really slowed down this month since it was rainy and cold plus some travel outta the bay. But looking towards more bike time in 2026!!

12/2 To trader joes by the lake and caught a vaporwave sky!! It was sooo pink reflecting on the lake, my pic does not do it justice
12/3 Friends with Bikes Meetup to Temescal Brewing
12/5 Rode to a Dance class at In the Groove Studios
12/6 passed a parade of folks by the lake
12/10 when I biked today it was really smooth! I felt like I had GREAT form!
12/12 Honorary bike event! hahaha Cocoa Fundraiser at Bike Party, raised $30
12/24 really quiet on the streets
12/26 Rode to BART, to Mission Bay and then the Marina where I got soaked and called it and took the 30 Stockton bus back to downtown. Biking with soggy boots is no fun

11/21 To chinatown for some bahn mi and boba with a buddy (2.5)

11/24 Veggie Drop off, loop around the lake (3.5)
11/30 to Yerba Buena Island and back, very cold and loud

october

Rides feel shorter when others are leading the way and I’m not solely navigating myself. There is a “bike brain” and a “navigation brain”. Biked less than I wanted to this month and its OK to slow down, but it was a shocking 113.1 miles! Also surpassed the $1200 Goal! Thank you everyone so far!!!

10/2 AM PM To work, to get my COVID booster and flu shot and home around the lake (14)
10/7 to a bike meetup, met at Hoi Polloi in Berkeley, up to the Albany Greenway / BayRidge Trail with a slight hot cocoa detour and back! (20.5)
10/15 CSA Veggie box pickup, where I learned some screws came out of my bike rack! Always double check to make sure things are secure (10.5)
10/19 AM PM Ride to a potluck then to BART/ Fremont and Back (15)
10/21 another social ride with Chapa West, this time explored the Ohlone Greenway up past Albany and back (22.2)
10/25 AM PM IN THE RAIN! Cycles of ChangeFundraiser by the Albany Bulb! Got soaked on the ride there and dried off on the way back (27.4)
10/30 Veggie Drop off, loop around the lake (3.5)

september

  • Launched my fundraising for my ClimateRide! Telling friends and family is scary and exciting! Raised my first $800 towards my $5000 goal! And rode a total of 117 miles this month!
  • Realizing I would like to get better bike gloves, I hope my storage/ Carrying situation improves with the newly affixed milk crate. And starting to use my new cycling goggles! They are transitions and are shatter-resistant.

9/1 AM PM Rode to Jack London Square, hopped on the Ferry over to the Ferry Building in SF, along the Embarcadero to East Beach by Crissy Field,over to Mission Bay, then back to Embarcadero BART (12 mi)
9/4 to work and Berkeley Bowl, my bungee broke so I had to wear my tote on my back, do not recommend (14)
9/9 borrowed Syd's bike and went around mom's neighborhood / to my dentist appt (1.5)
9/11 to get a haircut, around the lake, got cheesecake at Gregory’s (4)
9/13 to an art market in Emeryville and back with a full bag of craft items (12)
9/17 to Emeryville Office Depot & Back for work (8)
9/22 Just a loop around the Lake + some adventuring up and back to piedmont (6)
9/24 Lake Loop, detour to the Post Office, Lake Merritt Gardens, Arizmendi, where they give a discount to folks who bike in! (4)
9/26 to Biketopia clinic, where I got zip ties to affix a crate to my bike rack, then the Lake Merritt Dance Party and back! (12)
9/28 to MacArthur BART to Yerba Buena Island, then Richmond BART and back, hosted by Bike East Bay! This was my longest ride in the Bay to date! ( 40 mi)
9/30 Lake ride (3.5)

  • Officially Registered for the Climate Ride!
  • Installed my bike “cages” for my pedals. Learning how to be more efficient as I pedal in my movements

8/3 AM PM to the Oakland Main Branch Library!! Got myself a library card
8/5 PM Went towards children’s fairyland, ended up by the green sculpture
8/9 AM rode to the Oakland Post office on 14th St
8/12 PM rode round the lake
8/15 AM PM to Temescal, checked out the Zero Waste Store
8/17 PM borrowed Syds bike to the Great Highway, halfway and back in time for dinner, sun peeking thru the cloud cover
8/21 PM to a poetry workshop hosted by Bathers
8/22 PM PM and it’s still bright at 7PM, and Dancing by the Lake
8/24 PM to Jack London Square, took the free Water shuttle, biked around Alameda to the Cape anc Cowl Convention, stowed my sad garlic fries home to make them better
8/25 PM got some bike pedal cages and an inner tube from King Kog
8/21 PM did 13 miles in 2 hrs had 3 longer breaks, from Dublin/ Pleasanton BART to Bayfair. Very dusty and not the best air quality so late in the day, we started at 5PM!

  • Chatted with the Climate Ride folks to learn more about the ride!
  • Found that the Lake Merritt Loop is 3.4 Mi, and my favorite way to ride is clockwise around the Lake

After taking the rideshare bikes “blue bikes” around New Orleans, I had a newfound fervor to ride around SF more consistently! Almost started going on rides every other day. I don’t think I have biked this consistently since moving back/ when I used to commute solely by biking. Finally took of my heavy baskets on my bike.
