Great News Everyone!

July 2026

I am almost back to better than I was pre-injury! Finally able to ride again, I was able to prepare in June and July for the trip!

You helped me become the top contributor for this ride, and we raised a total of $3626!!

Our bike crew will be heading out to Canada via ferry on Sunday, August 9th. Thank you all soo much for your care and support this past year! I hope everyone gets to enjoy some sun this summer season and stays adequately hydrated too!

HAPPY RIDING!!

Natalie

Howdy!

April 2026

As y'all know I've been training since June 2025 for this amazing bike ride, however my training really picked up in January when I switched to my road bike.

Unfortunately I recently re-injured my back. In 2018 I had sciatica issues and this most recent flare up has been quite difficult. I've been going to see a Physical Therapist and she said I'd be "back to normal" in 6-12 weeks. With this info and based off of how I've been feeling these past few weeks, I reached out to Climate Ride about my inability to participate this June. They were kind to say that I could transfer my funds raised to another ride in 2026. So I am very much looking forward to their Seattle to Sea Bikepacking excursion in August! This will be with 11 other cyclists and we'll be making our way through the Olympic Peninsula and ferry to part of Canada too!

I also wanted to note that this new route is raising funds for the Climate Ride Organization itself. Initially, when I was fundraising, I informed everyone that I'd be raising funds for PODER, an SF-based Environmental Justice Organization. I have immense gratitude for everyone who has donated in support of this biking endeavor and want to be clear about where the funds are going. I do hope to ride to LA in the future and support PODER. For now, the Seattle Ride will be one that is a lot more within my capacity as a cyclist and brings me back to the wonderful PNW.

I'll definitely be updating the Bike Log once I can safely ride again! Wishing everyone a lovely Bike Month! And feel free to email me with any questions or leave notes of encouragement in the guest book (folks who tried to leave a message using Safari as a browser struggled a lil, so def try a different one!)

Sincerely, Natalie
